Yeast Infection

I never heard this one but when I read the book about Nursing the first two months, I found out about this subject (Yeast Infection). It said they are common in infants and it frequently overlooked as the cause of excessive fussiness. A yeast diaper rash is different than just normal diaper rash. Yeast diaper rash is a dotty, red rash or a peeling rash that resembles a mild burn, typically in the genital area. A baby with a yeast infection usually shows signs in his/her mouth, on his/her inner lips or checks and sometimes also on the tongue. The baby is typically very gassy as the yeast is frequently present in the intestinal tract as well. So you better watch out for that.
