The First Week of Nursing

On the first week of nursing, I am having hard time because my incision still hurt and I couldn’t hardly walk. But I try my best to breastfeed my little girl every 2-3 hours. I already had 2 year experience on breastfeeding so I have an idea on how to breastfeed my second baby in a right way. At first, I thought I don’t have enough milk to give to my baby but my doctor said, I don’t need to worry about because I have enough to give to my baby. I just worried about the day I labor the baby because she lose 9% of her weight. My milk came out after 4-5 days so the second and 3rd day, we gave her formula to satisfied her. The doctor told me that I need to stop feeding her formula if my milk already came out and im glad everythings okay and her weight came back to her normal weight.

Well they said all newborns lose weight after birth. That’s why you need to expect that your baby will lose about 5 to 9 percent of his/her birth weight. He should begin gaining weight by the fifth day about an ounce a day.

Benefits of Breastfeeding

- It has disease fighting cells that help protect infants from germs, illness, and even SIDS.
- It is healthy for both mom and the baby
- Its very different from infant formula.
- You can meet the needs of your baby.
- Its easier to digest than formula.
- You don’t need to sterilize bottles and nipples.
- You can save money by breastfeeding your baby.
- You don’t have to spend for a bottle formula.

The first milk that came out after you deliver your baby is called the Colostrum. This is the thick yellow milk known as liquid gold. This is very rich in nutrients and antibodies to protect the baby on any kind of illness and diseases.

Breastfeeding

We know that breastfeeding is the best thing we can do to our babies. Not only that they can get the nutrition they need, the relationship between mom and the baby will become stronger. They will become more attach to each other and of course the baby will grow up healthy and strong.

Breastfeeding is more than a lifestyle choice, if you choose to breastfeed your baby than to bottle fed them, then you had a great choice! Just like me, on my first pregnancy I rather breastfeed my little boy than to give him formula. I try to give him bottle milk once in a while but he is the one who refuse it. I breastfeed my first baby for almost 2 years and I never felt regret about anything. Im happy because I came on that stage that I gave the best that I could to my little one. Now that I have another baby, I still love to give her the best and that’s the breastfeeding. Breastfeeding is the most wonderful experience I’ve ever had as a mother.

Breastfeeding

I breastfeed Dustin since he was born and until he was 2 years old. Breastfeeding is the thing I always love because as a first time mom it’s a good feeling for me when my little baby is very peaceful sleeping in my arms. Mike always tell me to wean him early but I am still not ready yet and as well Dustin, he is not ready if I stop breastfeeding. We still enjoy each moment together and im loving it of course. We can have a great bond together as a mother and son. He is such a good baby though, even he already has teeth, he never bite my nipple. Well.. He bite me once but when I gave him a slap on his head, not too hard of course just enough to make him shock hehe. At least he will know that its bad to bite mommy’s tits and after that he never do it again. I always talk with him every time I am breastfeeding him, telling him always not to bite mommy and be a good boy. He did good so far and when he reach at 2 years old I decided to stop nursing him and it went pretty good because we are both ready that time. So to those mommy out there, don’t force your baby to wean breastfeeding. The time comes when they are ready, it will be easier for you to wean him because if mom and baby are both ready then that’s a good thing to start.
